DON’T MISS this Sri Lankan feast in Mumbai!!

In our quest for constant innovative culinary escapes, WHAT’S HOT IN MUMBAI chose to opt for a divine menu which had some amazing options of the Sri Lankan cuisine.

WHAT’S HOT IN MUMBAI chose to experiment with Sri Lankan cuisine is coz it is nothing like Indian. It is hotter, spicier, has a different array of flavours, and distinct staples. While most of Mumbai restaurants which focus on Sri Lankan cuisine focus on hoppers (a bowl-shaped crispy pancake made from fermented rice flour) and coconut sambol (coconut made physically addictive), we found such menus very restrictive. And that’s one reason why we were super-impressed with SPICY MANGO.

Spicy Mango is the #1 rated online Sri Lankan Cuisine Brand on Uber Eats and Pick Me Foods, the respective foremost global and local online food delivery App platforms, leading the fray from over 50,000 restaurants in Sri Lanka serving Sri Lankan Cuisine. They have finally launched their first overseas food delivery outlet in Mumbai.

Having savoured this cuisine with our ‘machan’ friends in Dubai, Spicy Mango’s elaborate flavours surely matched the ‘Authentic Sri Lankan Cuisine’. We loved the rich textures, flaring and flaming spiced richness which enthral you to slurp every bite on your plate. Yes, Sri Lankan cuisine is piping hot but Spicy Mango makes the dishes so desirable, lip-smacking and delectable that you don’t mind the spicy tingles on your taste buds.

A very strong recommendation to all the food connoisseurs who would love to dabble in the authentic Sri Lankan flavours. Do connect with them on their Instagram page @spicymango_in and we bet you won’t regret this volcanic flavoured experience.

Here are our recommendations:

For non veg lovers:

Chicken Kottu Rotti – This dish creates a balancing act on the spice level and can be blended with the curry for diners who don’t want to add too much rice to their meal. Slightly crunchy elements of the roti are a treat.

Matara Fish Curry – We just loved this rich textured curry, the fish pieces were soft and juicy. The additions of thinly sliced veggies added an extra punch to the dish. You will love slurping on the curry although it has a spicy tinge to it.

For veg lovers:

Brinjol Moju – A masterpiece for sure. You wouldn’t be able to recognize the brinjal flavours. The fine-cut brinjal pieces give you hints of the ‘kurkure bhindi’ but this one has a rigorous masala blend which makes it super delicious.

Sri Lankan Dhal Curry – Rich, creamy and loaded with some veggies and thick rice too. The spicy tinge takes it notches above the usual Dal dishes you have tried.

Beetroot Curry – Just Yummy. That sums it up, don’t miss on this one.

Tempered Yellow Rice – We loved the fragrance and abundance of finely chopped dry fruits. The rice blends well the spicy curry and is a perfect combination treat.

Caramelised Onion and mango pickle – These two are just accompaniments but add that added dimensions to the dish. Slurpy and superb.

Go ahead and place your orders with SPICY MANGO in Mumbai and we bet you will be dumbfounded on the magical flavours of the Sri Lankan cuisine. Great job from the team and we are surely coming back to savour the other dishes on your menu…. especially the desserts too!
