Cafés can be basic little hole-in-the-wall spots – or they can be gilded, glamorous beauties. The ones that fall elegantly into the latter category with decadent décor and opulent surroundings surely top the list with fine-dining diners. Of course, what has to be perfectly matched is also a scintillating menu that has a WOW factor. Check out our experience with this European themed café which has been recently launched.
WHAT’S HOT IN MUMBAI strongly recommends DEMY which has recently opened shop in the Kamala Mills complex. DEMY takes the spot from ‘London Taxi’ which for years has been a favourite party spot. Coming from the stables of Chrome Hospitality, you can rest assured of perfection all the way – not just a stunning ambience but also a scintillating menu to match it.
CHROME HOSPITALITY has always wowed us with their extravagant, lavish, flavorsome and gastronomical treats with every venture of theirs.
Dynamo Dhaval Udeshi, a veteran in the hospitality zone surely has an eagle eye and is considered to be the perfect pulse-tracker and trendsetter when it comes to new ventures. “With Demy, we want to create a refreshing and pleasant environment for patrons where different people can experience an exemplary culinary journey and can meet each other and build a community,” said Dhaval Udeshi.
DEMY, the European themed
tropical café is another addition to the long list. This boho
chic all-day Café (based in Kamala Mills) has great vibes, superb cocktails,
and excellent food. An expansive menu with some new twists adds the zing to the
flavours. The service is superfluous and the setting is perfect for group
gathering of friends who want to chill and enjoy the choicest dishes, skilfully
blended with some mesmerizing cocktails.
Here's what we tried and tasted:
Starters:
Demy signature Avo toast
Ingredients - Beet root
hummus with cream cheese quenelle, lotus root chips
Our review – A major highlight which supersedes the first-look visual treat. A colourful combo where beet root hummus is at its creamiest best and the avocado slices are super-silky. A must-have when you have the meal.
Paneer ghee roast bao
Ingredients - Mangalorean
inspired paneer ghee roast bao
Our review – Reminded
us of the ghee roast special dishes we have tried at ‘Butterfly High’ – the recipe
is almost identical minus the excess dosage of ghee. The paneer is super-soft
and lip-smacking.
Butter chicken naan bombs
Ingredients - Creamy
butter chicken and cheese stuffed mini naan bombs
Our review – Quite a
filling package, you get subtle inferences of the butter chicken flavours
without the overpowering sensation. Quite satiating, make sure you share it
with someone. Loved it.

Desserts
Nutella san Sebastian cheesecake
Ingredients - Soft and
succulent cheesecake with hot chocolate Nutella and sea salt drizzle vanilla
bean ice cream
Our review – An absolute stunner and sinful treat. A winning recipe with a perfect balance of tart and sweet. Loved the dreamy, silky- smooth texture.
Cocktails:
Sweet & Sweet
Ingredients - Vodka,
pineapple juice, cranberry juice, peach syrup, triple sec, candy floss
Our review – Perfectly
balanced, decently chilled and a sensational twist with the flavours. A
must-order!
Mocktails:
Pink Lemonade:
Ingredients - Hibiscus
berry syrup, rose syrup, lime juice, finger ale
Our review – Colourful
and enticing with the flavours. The perfect blend on the tangy quotient is
sensational.
Our final say:
The inspiration behind Demy’s
menu is to create an ingredient-focused and global comfort menu, using local
and seasonal ingredients which cater to every customer’s preferences. The food
is prepared by skilled chefs who use aromatic herbs, and fresh products and
apply special cooking techniques so each dish symbolizes originality and
deliciousness.
WHAT’S HOT IN MUMBAI truly
enjoyed the experience and is surely going back soon to try the other nouveau
