Cantonese cuisine is typified by simple dishes that are all about clear. There is no blast of spices in the food. The Cantonese dishes we savoured had very few heavy spices, letting main ingredients speak for themselves. The Cantonese have an obsession with freshness so one can expect loads of fresh, green veggies which ooze out natural flavours and taste. The spice flavours lack excessive manipulation and the ultimate effect is endearing.

As usual, we chose to opt for tasting portions so that we could savour most of the unique Cantonese creations. The soups are light yet lilting with natural flavours. The Three pearl soup was surely our favorite. The Crispy salt and pepper asparagus was rustic with magnificent undertones of the subtle flavours. The  Salt and pepper King prawns and Chong Qing chicken are ideal nibble treats, perfectly cooked and with faint spice notes.

For mains, we chose small portions of Wild mushroom with truffle veg oyster sauce, Vegetable yangzhou fried rice and Hunan spicy Chicken. We loved the balancing flavours, the aromatic fragrances and of course the crunchies of the veggies. The hunan chicken was surely our favourite since it had those subtle knock-out spice notes - just the way we love our food.

The desserts counter has an array of sweet treats to choose from - the Japanese cheesecake, the thousand layer cake and some matcha delights too. Striking visual colored treats made it difficult to choose from.

Our strong recommendation to all food lovers who would love to experiment with sushi, dimsums, Wok specials. The Cantonese menu also showcases forgotten recipes from the Orient, sumptuous roasted meats, delicate dimsums, Chef’s signature salt & pepper shrimp and more. You can relish the authenticity and finesse of Cantonese cuisine while enjoying the elegant ambiance of our serene oasis
