Review - The Playboy Club Rating 3 stars

By Aryeman Raj

I happened to attend the Stars Awards event at The Playboy Club. While one could easily get impressed with the décor, ambience and eclectic style of the place, the overall experience was a let-down. Such a magnanimous brand and so many goof-ups.

Food:

The chicken satay sticks served to us were amazing. Although I had small portions of the dinner (since it was late after the dancing) of the dinner, the tastes were amazing. Chicken makhni and the dal Tadkaa were something par excellence. The tiramisu was outstanding.

Drinks:

I ordered a Long islands tea, which I monitored and ensured it had the right blend. The second helping of the same drink was a complete disaster. One sip of it and it was just saccharine sugar syrup that hit my taste buds. Aren’t bartenders supposed to take a sip and ensure quality and taste standards are maintained? The follow-up drink was just about okay.

Service:
Surely a let-down. No paper napkins or tissues were provided while the starters were served. A 20 minute wait and 2 reminders to the servers got us what we asked for. Glasses and plates were not cleared for almost 30 minutes despite being in the VIP area. No manager or supervisors around on this area to monitor that clients were being looked after.

The Playboy Club may have stringent rules on entry but if this is the kind of service their staff are offering then it’s a big blow to the outlet. A MINUS STAR each for bad service and the sugary syrup drink.

Hope to see an improvement on the service front too.
