Presenting JAMIE LEVER – India's Comedy Empress

Making people, especially audiences laugh is a challenging journey. The pathway is even more tougher when you have to live up to the high standards already set by your father who has carved a niche for himself in the world of comedy, especially Bollywood films. Watching JAMIE LEVER perform on stage for her first LIVE performance at Nehru Centre was a non-stop laugh-a-thon for the audiences.

WHAT'S HOT IN MUMBAI would love to scream from rooftops for this amazing bundle of talent, a powerhouse performer Jamie Lever who has excelled not just in the field of comedy, mimicry but also singing and dancing. The entire show was loaded with such hilarious moments and non-stop laughter which we haven't experienced before.

Jamie's journey transition from studying overseas and finally walking out to the calling of 'comedy' and following the footsteps of her father Johnny Lever has been a commendable effort. There have been no streaks of Nepotism or recommendations, Jamie has taken baby steps, proved her mettle and carved her own niche. Kudos to the spirit of this young lass who has evolved and bloomed as a self-made star.

Review of Jamie Lever's performance on stage:

Jamie's comic take-off's on the Bollywood fraternity and have always been in good taste. She has never hit below the belt or resorted to harsh words like the current trend of stand-up comedians who seek instant fame. Audiences love her flawless performances – be it Farah Khan, Sonam Kapoor or even the legendary Asha Bhosale. The entire show was a perfect blend of humour dramatically infused with Jamie's classic singing style and perfect dance moves. Jamie has proved that talent runs in her genes but yet her inimitable style is unique and pitch-perfect.

WHAT'S HOT IN MUMBAI strongly recommends that one mustn't miss this outstanding, superb show the next time it hits the theatres. A standing ovation to Jamie for making audiences forget their problems and emerging with happy smiles. One of the most exnihilating, therapeutic experiences we have had in recent times. The scripting, the gags, the background score – everything is par excellence.

More power to Jamie, Johnny, our dear friend (another hidden bundle of talent) Jimmy Moses and the organiser Kaustubh Trivedi. Keep up with the good work!
