Why your review matters?

Everyone has our individualistic opinion in life and we have to make good use of it. Where most of us fail is when we actually are party to something irregular happening in our lives and we silently accept it. We don’t share our opinion or make the world (however small your world is) aware about what we have gone through.

Posting a review, be it about an evening out at a restaurant or buying a product or service should be on your bucket list. After all, you have a right to convey your opinion about the good and the bad.

If you have been party to a bad service or a fraud activity, your silence would only encourage the brand to continue fleecing future, potential customers. If you don’t complain, they go Scott-free.

HOW SHOULD ONE REVIEW?

A review can be posted on your social media accounts or even on the selected portals (be it a food or shopping portal). Try not to be too nasty, filter and tone your comments without hitting below the belt. Every businesss owner takes great pains to set up a business. Don’t try to kill their efforts for a small mistake of their staff members. Place yourself in a business owner’s shoes and think of the investments and overheads involved.

Being frank doesn’t imply that you have to be rude. Also what may not taste good for you or be of sub-standard quality may be good enough for a regular consumer. So be fair and don’t get too judgmental.

HOW YOUR REVIEW HELPS OTHERS?

A review needn’t always be critical or an expose. While most of us like to complain or find faults, change your ideology to even go the extra mile at times. Go ahead and add a complimentary review about what you feel about the product or service.

THE BEST PLACE TO LEAVE YOUR REVIEW:

Google maps has almost all brands and outlets listed. Your three sentence review can make a difference and help in decision making for someone.

If you are a regular shopper, use the product for at least a week before you post a review. Add your personalized touch by offering a visual treat by way of pictures or a video.

Instagram and Facebook are widely read. Rather than stopping at just posting pics, a three sentence review can impress your followers.

6 TIPS FOR A GOOD REVIEW:

1.    Use the KISS principle - Keep it short and simple.

2.    Don’t just convey your feelings, pass a verdict too.

3.    Suggest any changes in a mild way about how things could be improved.

4.    Compare the product or service with an earlier experience.

5.    Don’t be judgmental or have a bias. Only true feelings matter.

6.    Talk about the good things too.
