Casting Q’s – “Everyone asks for different sets of pictures and then ask me to get a folio done from their photographer friend.”

Co-ordinators always insist that my folio is not up-to-the-mark. Later they call me and tell me that they will get some discount from their photographer friend and only then they can get me work. What should I do?

Simran Singh replies:

I am aware that such a trend is quite prevalent. But yes, your folio should always show different shades of your personality and looks. If the co-ordinator insists on you choosing his photographer, you should just keep him happy and go and meet the photographer to check his work. There will be no guarantee that you will get work even after you click your new folio.

The co-ordinator gets a clear 20 percent cut of the charges you pay for the new folio. So don’t get conned. Yes you should have variations in your folio and your pics should look natural and not be totally photoshopped.

You can try photographer Ricky (9819995115). His folios are natural and in outdoors, he charges reasonably, spends time with you for the shoot.
