Hello. I come from a decent family and yet all the
co-ordinators I come across ask if I am willing to compromise for the role. How
should I say NO?
Simran Singh replies:
It’s a sad state of affairs. There are many agents who have
spoiled the name of the industry. Some of them don’t even think twice that they
have sisters in their own houses. The best option is to maintain your decency
limits with the co-ordinator the first time you meet him.
Create a barrier which gives him clear indication that you
are a no-nonsense girl. If he makes any slimy talk, show him that his humour doesn’t
make you laugh. Also your dressing sense shouldn’t give them any different
indications. If they are direct, politely mention to them that you aren’t interested
in it. Also, once you meet such a co-ordinator who has behaved in a slimy way,
always continue your talks with him on phone messaging. If he continues to be
pushy, ask your family / friend to call him and give him a piece of their mind.
Don’t take any crap from such seedy co-ordinators.
